UPDATE 20TH NOVEMBER 09
typically all attention is snapper on PPB
But after the early season peaks and troughs and things have settled down attention turns from quantity to quality and getting the family involved
Carrum through to Mt eliza seems to be the peak part of the bay but areas like sandringham St kilda Werribee and laverton have all fished well
bigger fish have been caught in shallower water after blows and as the barometer is rising and smaller fish have been in huge numbers out wider

as a side note decent flatties and some good bags of squid have also been caught
Paul ANCAMAN Barton has also been getting some good bags of salmon down south and gars have been taken off frankston and Mornington peirs
See the members are for more in depth reports
UPDATE 2nd NOVEMBER 08
Red Fever is now in full swing
Ramps are packed from 4.00 am and the fishing has been very good in the last week or so
usual areas are all firing and whilst the size of fish has been down a bit the numbwers of fish have been Excellent
Matt Cini of REELTIME CHARTERS reports many bag limit captures of fish ranging from 1.5kgs to 5kgs coming from St kilda to Mornington and in varying depths from 8 metres to 19 metres
I have been lucky enough to have had a couple of weekends on the bay and have found fish in 12 to 18 metres from Carrum to Mt Martha
best bait by far has been the humble pilchard as well as gars squid and silver Whiting
Many of our members have reported excellent catches and some fantastic fish in amoungst them
One of our members "JAMES" ventured over from Tassie and got stuck into the snapper action off Ansetts with Ancaman and myself

UPDATE 20TH OCTOBER
Things have really heated up in the last week with quality fish being caught in most of the new season areas
places such as Mt Martha Mronington Altona Werribee and the likes are all starting to fire up BUT the pick would be from Black Rock to Ansetts
best bait has been gars and the humble pilchard
results seem to be coming from 1 tide change or 1 feeding period a day at the moment but this will increase
regular contributers Kev Dave John and Ed hav had some ripper sessions wide off the hospital area bagging on quality fish and young Lucas Brooke got his very first snapper during the week (dont know who is happier, Lucas or Father Dean) FOR THE LATES REPORTS DAILY JOIN OUR MEMBERS AREA

UPDATE 14TH OCTOBER 2008
The trickle of reports is now starting to rise as the water temperature increases
Reports from Black rock to Mt Martha have been better with schools fish biting spasmodically bit biting none the less
Over on the western side at Altona Werribee and Corio/Geelong much the same thing is being reported. The fish seem to be there but are lethargic due to the water Temeprature
Best results come from being patient and fishing tide changes and it seems as many fish are being caught in the dark as during the day
I have been lucky enough to see a few come over the side of the boat in the last couple of days and the common denominator seems to 12 to 18 metres fresh bait (gar and squid) and tide changes
Chelsea to Mornington St Kilda and Altona seem to be the pick
Smallish Calamari are being caught around the bay over most of the productive weed beds with Mt Eliza Black Rock and Queenscliff being the stand out locations
The odd salmon schools have been busting up of an evening From Rye to Sorrento
UPDATE 6TH OCTOBER 2008
WATER TEMP HAS FINALLY STARTED TO RISE AND THE FISHING SHOULDNT BE FAR BEHIND IT
Many members are reporting sounding up large schools of snapper from mornington to St Kilda and from the Altona and wrrribee areas and in Corio bay so the snapper wont be far off
The odd fish have come from Black rock Carrum Seaford Frankston and Mornington but not in huge numbers
1s and 2s seem to be the order of the day and the evening tide change seems to be the pick
Top baits have been fresh squid gars and the humble pilchrd
Calamari have been good around sunnyside black rock porse and queenscliff
Gars are about in good numbers in the Blairgowrie and Rye areas
Several good snapper to 5.6kg have come from Corio bay and Altona on the week end with salmon fillets and squid doig the damage
The humble flathead have been good off mornington andsizes have beeen far better than average with fish around 23cm being common
Cheers and good fishing
Vicsalt team
UPDATE 28th SEPTEMBER 08
WITH THE WIND PERSISTING AND PORT PHILLIP BAY STILL 2 DEGREES DOWN ON THIS TIME LAST YEAR THE FISHING HAS BEEN SPASMODIC AND PATCHY
dedicated anglers have been out sounding up some very large schools of snapper from Mornington to Black Rock and even farther north in Altona but until the water warms the fishing activity remains slow
the odd snapper to 4.5 kgs have been caught out from Carrum and around Mt eliza but not in big numbers
Squid have been good all around the bay over the shallow weed beds with yamashita jigs in natural colours doing well
salmon have been around in good numbers especially around the Mornington to Seaford areas and around Blairgowrie to Sorrento
Flathead have been very good off portarlington and in Corio bay
couta have been caught off Rye and off Queenscliff
Many anglers are stocking up on Gars which seem plentiful in most places at the moment
UPDATE 15TH SEPTEMBER 08
WITH STRONG NORTHERLIES FOR MOST OF THE PAST WEK THE ACITIVITY IN THE BAY HASNT BEEN THAT HIGH
I was lucky enough to sneak out tuesday night and found plenty of fish on the sounder on various peices of structure and rubble bottom from carrum to Mornington and managed to get a couple of fish to take a bait but the water temp is still inhibiting their willingness to feed
WATER TEMP 12.4 (today)
Chris from CBT has had a good couple of days getting quite a few snapper off Mornington / Mt Eliza area
the fish have been a mix of new season and resident fish
Matt Cine reports good numbers of squid from Frankston to Mt Martha
Good reports of squid from Black rock area too
Whiting have been in very good numbers on the eastern seaboard with Mt Martha and Mornington fishing well
Larger squid have been caught from Rye to Sorrento
The Northern end of the bay has fished well with the hottie producing bream tailor ans salmon and plenty of schools of salmon busting the small baitfish up around St Kilda through to Altona
